  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup (225 grams) unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup (200 grams) granulated sugar
  • ½ cup (100 grams) powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp butter extract (optional)
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ½ cup (115 grams) unsalted butter (for glaze)
  • ¾ cup (150 grams) granulated sugar (for glaze)
  • ¼ cup (60 mL) water
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract (for glaze)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cream the butter and sugars until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the eggs and extracts, mixing until incorporated.
  4. Combine the dry ingredients and mix into the wet until just combined.
  5. Scoop dough onto a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  6. Bake for 10-12 minutes until lightly golden.
  7. Prepare the glaze by melting butter, sugar, water, and vanilla in a saucepan.
  8. Glaze the cooled cookies.
