  • 1/3 cup melted butter
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Mash the overripe bananas with a fork in a large mixing bowl.
  3. Mix in the melted butter, sugar, egg, and vanilla extract until fully combined.
  4. Combine the baking soda, salt, flour, and cocoa powder in a separate bowl.
  5. Bring the dry ingredients into the banana mixture and fold gently until just combined.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips.
  7. Prepare a 9×5 inch loaf pan by greasing or lining it with parchment paper.
  8. Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  9. Cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
