Birria Garlic Knots

Cozy garlic knots filled with flavorful birria beef and melty Oaxaca cheese, bringing together the best of Mexican tradition and comfort food.

Ingredients

  • Store-bought or Homemade Dough
  • Garlic Powder
  • Olive Oil
  • Beef Chuck Roast
  • Dried Guajillo Chiles
  • Dried Ancho Chiles
  • Onion
  • Garlic
  • Cumin
  • Oregano
  • Bay Leaf
  • Beef Broth
  • Oaxaca Cheese
  • Salt

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Birria: Soak dried chiles in hot water for 15 minutes. Blend with onion, garlic, and spices.
  2. Heat oil in a pot and brown the beef. Add the blended mixture and broth, then simmer for 2-3 hours.
  3. Make the Garlic Knots: Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Roll dough into strips and tie into knots.
  4. Brush knots with olive oil and garlic powder, then bake for 15-20 minutes until golden.
  5. Fill the Garlic Knots: Shred beef, fill knots with beef and cheese, then bake for another 10 minutes.

Notes

Feel free to customize with jalapeños for spice or mushrooms for a veggie version. These knots also freeze well for later enjoyment!
