Chicken Crepes Shawarma

A delicious fusion of golden crepes filled with tender chicken, fresh veggies, and rich Shawarma sauce.

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups milk
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp melted butter
  • 1 lb chicken breast, cooked and shredded
  • 1 cup lettuce, shredded
  • 1 tomato, diced
  • ½ cup cucumber, sliced
  • ½ cup homemade Shawarma sauce (or store-bought)
  • Olive oil for cooking

Instructions

  1. Prepare the crepe batter: In a mixing bowl, combine the flour and salt. Create a well, then add the eggs. Gradually whisk in the milk until smooth. Let sit for 30 minutes.
  2. Cook the crepes: Heat a non-stick skillet, drizzle with olive oil, pour in ¼ cup of batter, and cook until golden. Repeat with remaining batter.
  3. Season and cook the chicken: Cook chicken until it reaches 165°F (75°C), then shred.
  4. Assemble the shawarma: Lay a crepe flat, spread Shawarma sauce, and fill with chicken, lettuce, tomato, and cucumber.
  5. Roll the crepes: Fold sides over the filling and roll tightly.
  6. Optional: Crisp the crepes in the skillet until golden brown.
  7. Prepare for serving: Plate the crepes and drizzle with extra Shawarma sauce.

Notes

Can be served with fresh herbs, side salad, or roasted vegetables. Best enjoyed fresh.
