Ingredients

  • Chicken Fried Steak
  • Gravy
  • Mashed Potatoes
  • Cheddar Cheese
  • Green Onions
  • Bread Crumbs
  • Butter

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Prepare your chicken fried steak according to the package if frozen, or season and fry if homemade.
  3. Make the gravy by preparing a roux and whisking in milk until thickened; season well.
  4. Prepare the mashed potatoes and spread them in a greased casserole dish.
  5. Layer the cooked chicken fried steaks on the mashed potatoes and drizzle the gravy over the top.
  6. Add shredded cheddar cheese and mix bread crumbs with melted butter before sprinkling on top.
  7. Bake for 30–40 minutes until golden brown and bubbly.
  8. Garnish with chopped green onions before serving.
