Chili Pasta

A heartwarming bowl of Chili Pasta that combines comforting flavors and a spicy kick, perfect for cozy days and gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 200g Pasta
  • 1 tablespoon Olive Oil
  • 1 Onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 1 Red Chili, chopped
  • 1 Can Diced Tomatoes (400g)
  • 1 teaspoon Oregano
  • Salt and Pepper to taste
  • Grated Cheese for Serving (optional)

Instructions

  1. Boil the Pasta: In a large pot, bring salted water to a rolling boil. Add the pasta and cook according to the package instructions until al dente.
  2. Sauté the Vegetables: While the pasta is cooking, heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and sauté for about 3-4 minutes until translucent.
  3. Add Garlic and Chili: Toss in the minced garlic and chopped red chili. Sauté for another minute until fragrant.
  4. Introduce the Tomatoes: Add the can of diced tomatoes along with the oregano, salt, and pepper. Stir and let it simmer for about 10 minutes.
  5. Combine Pasta and Sauce: Once the sauce thickens, add the drained pasta to the skillet. Toss together, adding reserved pasta water as needed.
  6. Serve and Enjoy: Plate the Chili Pasta, sprinkle cheese on top if desired, and share with loved ones!

Notes

You can add ground meat, fresh spinach, or make it creamy with heavy cream for variations. Freezes well for up to 3 months.
