The Perfect Chocolate Smoothie

A rich and satisfying chocolate smoothie that can be enjoyed any time of day.

Ingredients

  • 1 ripe banana
  • 1 to 2 tablespoons raw cacao
  • 200 ml almond milk (or oat milk, or coconut water)
  • 100 g strawberries or raspberries (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon peanut butter (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon chia or flax seeds (optional)
  • Sweetener to taste (Medjool dates or agave syrup)

Instructions

  1. Prep your ingredients: Peel your ripe banana and break it into chunks. Wash and hull fresh strawberries or raspberries. Measure out your cacao, milk, and optional ingredients.
  2. Blend the banana and milk: Add banana pieces and almond milk to a blender. Blend on high until smooth.
  3. Add in the dry ingredients: Sprinkle in cacao powder and add any optional seeds or peanut butter. Blend again until creamy.
  4. Incorporate the berries: Toss in strawberries or raspberries and blend until fully mixed. Adjust with more almond milk if too thick.
  5. Sweetening it up: Add sweetener to taste and blend once more.
  6. Serve it up: Pour into a glass and drizzle with peanut butter or sprinkle cacao nibs on top.

Notes

For a quick breakfast, prep ingredients the night before and blend in the morning. Smoothies are best enjoyed fresh.
