Fried Noodles

A comforting and flavorful dish of fried noodles packed with fresh vegetables and seasonings, perfect for busy weeknights.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 small cabbage, thinly sliced
  • 2 carrots, julienned
  • 1 bell pepper, sliced
  • 2 green onions, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 200g chow mein noodles
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Prep your veggies: Start by washing and slicing all your veggies.
  2. Cook the noodles: Bring a pot of salted water to a boil. Add the chow mein noodles and cook according to package instructions until barely al dente. Drain and set aside.
  3. Heat the oil: In a large skillet or wok, add the vegetable oil over medium-high heat.
  4. Sauté the aromatics: Toss in the minced garlic and let it cook for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  5. Add the vegetables: Stir in the sliced cabbage, julienned carrots, and bell pepper. Sauté for about 3–4 minutes until the veggies start to soften.
  6. Noodle time!: Gently fold in those pre-cooked chow mein noodles.
  7. Season with sauces: Drizzle the soy sauce and oyster sauce over the noodles and mix well.
  8. Taste and adjust: Taste your noodles and add salt and pepper as needed.
  9. Finish with green onions: Toss in the chopped green onions right at the end.
  10. Serve and enjoy: Once everything is heated through, your fried noodles are ready to serve!

Notes

For extra protein, add cooked chicken, shrimp, or tofu. You can also customize with seasonal vegetables.
