Homemade Iced Coffee

A refreshing and robust homemade iced coffee perfect for summer days.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup coarse ground coffee
  • 4 cups cold water
  • 2 cups ice cubes
  • 1 cup milk or cream (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons sugar or sweetener (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the coffee grounds by measuring out one cup of coarse ground coffee.
  2. Bloom your coffee by mixing the coffee grounds with cold water and letting it sit for about 5 minutes.
  3. Cover the mixture and let the coffee steep in the refrigerator for 12 to 24 hours.
  4. Strain the coffee using a fine mesh strainer or coffee filter.
  5. Pour the brewed coffee back into the pitcher and add in the ice cubes.
  6. Serve yourself a glass and customize it with milk, cream, or sweetener.
  7. Taste the iced coffee and make any adjustments as necessary.

Notes

To avoid watered-down coffee, consider using coffee ice cubes.
