Maple Donut Bars

Delightfully fluffy Maple Donut Bars with a sweet glaze, perfect for breakfast or as a snack.

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup
  • 2 tablespoons milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Prepare a 9×13-inch baking pan with cooking spray or parchment paper.
  3. Mix your dry ingredients in a large mixing bowl: flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  4. Creaming the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy.
  5. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each. Then pour in the buttermilk and vanilla extract.
  6. Combine the dry and wet ingredients until just mixed.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly.
  8. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  9. Cool the bars in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
  10. Make the maple glaze by whisking together powdered sugar, maple syrup, and milk until smooth.
  11. Glaze the cooled bars and serve.
