Sausage Gravy Biscuit Casserole

A cozy and comforting casserole featuring rich sausage, creamy gravy, and flaky biscuits, topped with gooey cheese.

Ingredients

  • Biscuits (1 can or homemade)
  • Breakfast Sausage (1 pound)
  • All-Purpose Flour (1/4 cup)
  • Milk (2 cups)
  • Cheddar Cheese (1 cup, shredded)
  • Salt and Pepper to taste
  • Fresh herbs (optional, chopped parsley or chives)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cook the sausage in a large skillet over medium heat until browned, about 5-7 minutes.
  3. Make the gravy by stirring in flour, cooking for a minute, then whisking in milk until thickened, about 3-5 minutes.
  4. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  5. Prepare the biscuits by separating canned ones or rolling out homemade dough into quarters.
  6. Layer the biscuit quarters in a greased 9×13 baking dish, pour gravy over, and top with cheddar cheese.
  7. Bake for around 30-35 minutes until cheese is bubbly and golden.
  8. Let cool for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

This casserole can be made ahead of time and stored in the fridge for up to 24 hours before baking.
