One-Pot Creamy Spicy Cajun Sausage Pasta

A comforting and flavorful one-pot pasta dish featuring smoky sausage, creamy sauce, and robust Cajun spices.

  • 1 lb smoked sausage
  • 12 oz penne pasta
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1 bell pepper, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes
  • 1 tbsp Cajun seasoning
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese for garnish
  • 2 tbsp olive oil

Instructions

  1. Sauté the onion and bell pepper in olive oil until translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
  2. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  3. Slice the smoked sausage and add it to the pot, cooking until browned, about 5-7 minutes.
  4. Stir in the penne pasta, chicken broth, diced tomatoes, Cajun seasoning, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  5. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce heat to low and cover, simmer for 10-12 minutes until pasta is al dente.
  6. Remove from heat and stir in the heavy cream and Parmesan cheese until melted.
  7. Serve hot, garnished with extra cheese and herbs if desired.

Notes

Feel free to adjust the seasoning according to your taste preference or add more Cajun seasoning for extra heat.
