Spicy Paneer Frankie

A lively and zesty dish featuring soft flatbread filled with spicy paneer, crisp veggies, and aromatic spices, perfect for a quick meal.

Ingredients

  • Paneer (Fresh Indian Cottage Cheese)
  • Red Chili Powder
  • Garam Masala
  • Turmeric Powder
  • Onion
  • Bell Pepper
  • Fresh Coriander (Cilantro)
  • Whole Wheat Flour
  • Water
  • Oil (Optional)
  • Green Chutney
  • Yogurt/Sour Cream

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Paneer Filling:
    • Dice the Paneer and set aside.
    • Sauté the diced onions until translucent (3-4 minutes).
    • Add the chopped bell peppers and cook for another 2-3 minutes.
    • Stir in the paneer cubes, red chili powder, turmeric, and garam masala. Cook until heated through (3-4 minutes).
  2. Prepare the Chapati Dough:
    • Mix whole wheat flour and a pinch of salt. Gradually add water and knead until smooth.
    • Rest the dough covered for at least 20 minutes.
  3. Roll Out the Chapatis:
    • Divide the dough into balls and flatten each into a thin circle (6-8 inches).
  4. Cook the Chapatis:
    • Heat a pan over medium-high heat.
    • Cook each chapati for 30 seconds on each side until golden.
  5. Assemble Your Frankies:
    • Add a generous scoop of the filling to the chapati.
    • Roll tightly and secure with a toothpick if desired.
  6. Serve and Enjoy:

Notes

You can prepare the paneer filling in advance and refrigerate it. Just reheat before assembling.
