Loaded Shawarma Gnocchi

A delightful fusion dish featuring pillowy gnocchi coated in tender, spiced shawarma chicken and drizzled with creamy garlic sauce.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 package store-bought gnocchi
  • 1 lb boneless chicken thighs or breasts, marinated
  • ½ cup yogurt (or mayonnaise)
  • 23 cloves garlic, minced
  • Juice of half a lemon
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh vegetables (cherry tomatoes, cucumbers, bell peppers) – optional
  • Fresh herbs (parsley or cilantro) for garnish
  • Olive oil for cooking
  • Spices: ground cumin, paprika, garlic powder, turmeric, cayenne

Instructions

  1. Cook the Gnocchi: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the gnocchi and cook until they float to the surface, about 2-3 minutes. Use a slotted spoon to remove them, and toss with olive oil to prevent sticking.
  2. Prepare the Shawarma Chicken: In a skillet over medium-high heat, add olive oil. Add the marinated chicken and cook for 6-7 minutes on each side until golden brown. Let it rest before slicing into pieces.
  3. Make the Creamy Garlic Sauce: In a small bowl, mix yogurt, minced garlic, lemon juice, and season with salt and pepper.
  4. Combine Everything: In the same skillet, add the cooked gnocchi, followed by sliced shawarma chicken and garlic sauce. Toss gently to combine.
  5. Serve and Enjoy: Spoon the Loaded Shawarma Gnocchi into bowls. Drizzle with remaining garlic sauce and garnish with fresh herbs and a squeeze of lemon.
