Croissant Sushi Bake

A delightful combination of flaky croissants and flavorful sushi filling, perfect for gatherings.

Ingredients

  • Croissants (6-8)
  • Sushi Rice (1.5 cups)
  • Crab Meat (1 cup, cooked)
  • Spicy Mayo (½ cup)
  • Rice Vinegar (1-2 tablespoons)
  • Green Onions (2 stalks, sliced)
  • Sesame Seeds (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven: Start by preheating your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Prepare the Sushi Rice: Rinse sushi rice under cold water until the water runs clear. Cook the rice according to the package instructions. Let it steam for about 10-15 minutes, then fluff with a fork and stir in the rice vinegar.
  3. Mix the Filling: In a large bowl, combine the cooked sushi rice, crab meat, green onions, and spicy mayo. Mix until evenly coated.
  4. Prepare the Croissants: Slice each croissant in half lengthwise to create a pocket for the filling.
  5. Fill the Croissants: Spoon the sushi filling inside each croissant, allowing it to overflow slightly.
  6. Bake It Up: Place the filled croissants in a greased baking dish and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown.
  7. Garnish and Serve: Sprinkle sesame seeds on top and serve with extra spicy mayo for dipping.

Notes

This recipe is versatile; feel free to substitute crab with shrimp or vegetables for a plant-based option.
