Fried Onion Cheeseburger Pasta

A comforting one-pot dish combining cheeseburgers and pasta with fried onions for extra flavor and crunch.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz rotini or penne pasta
  • 1 lb ground beef (or ground turkey, chicken, or plant-based meat)
  • 1 cup fried onions
  • 2 cups shredded cheese (cheddar and Monterey Jack)
  • 1 1/2 cups tomato sauce

  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Boil the pasta in salted water according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water before draining.

  3. Add garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  4. Pour in tomato sauce and let it simmer for 5 minutes, adding pasta water as needed for consistency.
  5. Combine the cooked pasta with the sauce, stirring to coat.
  6. Cheesy goodness: lower the heat and mix in the cheese until melted.
  7. Top with fried onions for crunch.
  8. Serve immediately or bake in the oven at 375°F (190°C) for 10-15 minutes for a golden topping.

Notes
